At CCMR Solutions, we believe that strategic collaboration and informed advocacy are essential to ensuring every student graduates college, career, and military ready. Our team partners with schools, districts, higher education institutions, and industry leaders to align systems, strengthen pathways, and close equity gaps that persist across the educational pipeline. Through statewide partnerships and policy engagement, CCMR Solutions champions innovative practices that prepare students for postsecondary success and high-demand careers across Texas.
This month, Diana Del Pilar, Chief Executive Officer of CCMR Solutions, joined the Texas Educator Advisory Council to lead a session on Advocacy and Policy for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR).
The Texas Educator Advisory Council—co-led by EdTrust in Texas and Teach Plus—brings together teacher leaders and administrators from across the Houston region to elevate educator voice in shaping local and state education policy.
Del Pilar’s presentation centered on key policy outcomes from the 89th Texas Legislative Session that directly impact access, funding, and equity in College, Career, and Technical Education (CTE). She outlined legislative updates that strengthen CCMR opportunities while calling for continued advocacy in several critical areas:
- Expanding Dual Credit Access and Teacher Credentialing: Advocating for funding that enables more high school educators to become qualified dual credit instructors.
- Advancing Academic and Workforce Readiness: Ensuring students have equitable access to rigorous advanced coursework such as AP, IB, and OnRamps, while also participating in career and military readiness programs.
- Building Seamless Postsecondary Pathways: Urging colleges and universities to collaborate in articulating clear transfer pathways from associate to bachelor’s degrees in high-demand fields aligned with the Houston labor market.
- Strengthening Industry Partnerships: Encouraging industry partners to offer work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, and mentorships that cultivate technical proficiency, academic growth, and the essential employability skills needed for success after graduation.
Del Pilar also shared updates on JROTC Pathways and Military Program Grants, underscoring their importance in diversifying CCMR opportunities and aligning student experiences with postsecondary and workforce outcomes.
In closing, Del Pilar emphasized the collective responsibility of education, industry, and policy leaders to create aligned systems that prepare every student to graduate college, career, or military ready—advancing the state’s 60×30 Texas goals and building a future workforce that reflects both economic needs and community aspirations.
“When educators, policymakers, and industry leaders come together with shared purpose,” Del Pilar noted, “we don’t just prepare students for what’s next—we design the future they deserve.”
